The 8u Cobras participated in their first out-of-town tournament of the 2013 season over the weekend.  We traveled to Cincinnati to play in the Charlie Hustle Baseball Classic.  We had rain delays and muddy fields, but were able to get our games in.

On Saturday, we played the Central Ohio Predators.  Looking at that team was like looking at a team of 10-11 year olds.  They smacked three home runs over the fence to prove it.  However, outstanding defense, timely hitting and aggressive baserunning prevailed as the Cobras came from behind to win, 11-8.

We finished pool play on Sunday morning because of the weather.  We faced a solid Butler County Bulls and lost, 6-2.  One bad defensive inning hurt and our bats were nowhere to be found.  We entered bracket play as the #3 seed and fell to the Dayton Sting in a heartbreaker, 9-7.

It was a rollercoaster weekend emotionally for the 8u Cobras, but we will back for sure.  We will practice this week and get ready for the Jaguars Memorial tournament this weekend.
